I originally trained as a teacher and worked in mainstream and special schools before completing training as an educational psychologist in 1994. I later completed doctoral training in 1999 carrying out research into autism outreach services. I have a diverse portfolio of work with children, young people, adults and carers in schools, local authorities, the voluntary sector and universities. Over time I have developed a specialism in autism spectrum conditions / social and communication needs but still work in other areas of need.
I began work with the National Autistic Society in 1996 at the Lorna Wing Centre and still work there as a consultant psychologist carrying out diagnostic (DISCO) training for professionals as well as clinical assessments. I provide supervision and coordinate assessment of clinical work as part of the DISCO training. I am also employed part time with Real Group Ltd where I work as a tutor for On line Master’s level modules for Teachers covering special needs / autism and I also offer regular psychological services to schools. I also accept parent commissioned assessment work.
